Melbourne recently topped the Economist Intelligence Unit (EIU) survey of 130 cities. Long time rival, Sydney came in equal sixth place along with the next two largest Australian cities of Brisbane and Adelaide. Perth in Western Australia scored marginally better in fourth place. Surprisingly, Melbourne’s temperate climate was a major factor in it sharing the most liveable city status with Vancouver and Vienna, ahead of the other Australian cities.
Melbourne, the capital city of Victoria has a multicultural population of 3.5 million residents who are as equally passionate about the arts as they are about Australian Rules Football.
